Other Breakable Things
by Kelley York and Rowan Altwood
Publication Date:  April 4 ,2017
Publisher:  Entangled Teen

According to Japanese legend, folding a thousand paper cranes will grant you healing.

Evelyn Abel will fold two thousand if it will bring Luc back to her.

Luc Argent has always been intimately acquainted with death. After a car crash got him a second chance at life—via someone else’s transplanted heart—he tried to embrace it. He truly did. But he always knew death could be right around the corner again.

And now it is.

Sick of hospitals and tired of transplants, Luc is ready to let his failing heart give out, ready to give up. A road trip to Oregon—where death with dignity is legal—is his answer. But along for the ride is his best friend, Evelyn.

And she’s not giving up so easily.

A thousand miles, a handful of roadside attractions, and one life-altering kiss later, Evelyn’s fallen, and Luc’s heart is full. But is it enough to save him? Evelyn’s betting her heart, her life, that it can be.

Right down to the thousandth paper crane.

Other Breakable Things tells the story of Evelyn and Luc. They've been friends when they were younger but Evelyn had to leave town for her mother's boyfriend. Three years later they meet each other and they decide to leave town together. Both for another reason. Evelyn feels like a second choice to her mum and her mother's boyfriend did certain things that a stepdad shouldn't do. Luc has problems with his heart, he had a heart transplant a few days after Evelyn left town, but his body is rejecting the heart. He decided to take this trip to go to Oregon, for euthanasia. Evelyn doesn't know a thing about his illness or euthanasia until he's really sick and needs to go to the hospital. Will she stay with him after she figured out his plan?

Other Breakable Things is such a heartbreaking story. Wow. It was so beautiful yet so sad. It was really fast paced and I couldn't stop reading. I had to know what was going to happen and how they were going to solve their problems/disputes. At the end I couldn't stop crying. It was hard to read and cry at the same time, but I managed!

I really really love Other Breakable Things and I highly recommend it!

My highlighters | Make-up collection

I'm in love with highlighters so I had to make a blog post about highlighters!

2B Blush Powder Highlighter in 01 Silver
I haven't tried this highlighter yet because I just bought it but it looks so blinding!!!
Click here to check out the website.

Catrice Highlighting Powder 010 Stardust
This was my very first highlighter. It's a little powdery but I like to use it as a natural highlighter.
Click here to check out the website.

Essence Cubanita jumbo highlighter in 01 mi corazón

When I found out that Essence was going to come out with a jumbo highlighter, I just had to have it! Too bad that the gold is a little too dark for me, but maybe I can work with it when I have a tan or with a lighter highlighter on top!

Essence liquid skin illuminator 01 sitting, waiting, witching
To be honest, I haven't used this highlighter and it's also limited edition...

Essence Strobing Highlighter 10 Let It Glow!
This is also a powdery highlighter, but I like to use this one for a natural highlight.

I Heart Make-up Unicorns Heart
This is one of my favourite highlighters. I got this as a present from my sister. She got it with the opening of the Nyx store in Antwerp (Belgium). So to be honest, I don't know where you can buy this one...

KIKO Radiant Touch Creamy Stick Highlighter 100 Gold
This was my second highlighter I've ever bought. I love that this highlighter is a good highlighter for pale skins. It's creamy and I use it without putting a powder highlighter on top.
Click here to check out the website.

Max & More Glow & Highlights Palette

This palette is everything! It's so beautiful and so colourfull! Every colour has a different undertone, some of them has a blue/green/pink undertone and I live for it!

Click here to check out the website.

Nyx Away We Glow Liquid Highlighter in Liquid Prism
This highlighter is also one of my favourites. It's so blinding and  I use it without putting a powder highlighter on top.
Click here to check out the website.

Sleek MakeUp Solstice Highlighting Palette
This highlighting palette is amazing! I love the gold-like and purple highlighter. I can use the dark shade when I mix it with the gold-like shade. The creamy shade is a shade I don't really use.
(My palette broke, so that's the reason that there are 2 parts)
Click here to check out the website.

Make sure to check these highlighters out!

Thirteen Reasons Why | Review

Title: 13 Reasons Why
Created by: Brian Yorkey
Based on: Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Seasons (watched): 1 season
Rating: ★★★★

Review

I recently bought and read Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher because I knew that there was going to be a TV show based on the book. I really liked the book, I gave it 4 stars. Thirteen Reasons Why is such a deep and moving book. The book and the TV show will be forever on my mind.

Thirteen Reasons Why tells the story of Hannah. Hannah committed suicide, but before she did, she made 13 tapes with 13 reasons why she committed suicide. You read in Clay's perspective, he's on the tapes but he doesn't know what he did. So he listens to the tapes...

There are some differences between the book and the TV show. In the beginning it annoyed me because I thought the book was so good, but around episode 6 I really got into the TV show and couldn't stop watching. Looking back, I think the changes were really good. They gave more character depth and you get to know everyone a lot better than just the little description Hannah or Clay gave in the book.

The only change I don't completely understand is the way of Hannah's suicide. In the book she takes an overdose of pills but in the series she slits her wrists. Is it because it's more common? Or that is really shows how painful it all is? I do know that it was really hard to watch. I struggle(d) with self-harm myself and watching that scene was really hard for me. I was crying so hard, it was so real and you could see her physical and emotional pain.

I highly recommend the book and the TV show because everyone needs the know how badly someone can feel and that suicide can never ever be an option. You have to help people and show them that they deserve to be here and that they are wanted.

Don't Kiss the Messenger | Blog tour

Don't Kiss the Messenger (Edgelake High School, #1)
by Katie Ray
Publication Date:  April 10, 2017
Publisher:  Entangled Teen Crush

For most of her teenage life, CeCe Edmonds has been dealing with the stares and the not-so-polite whispers that follow her around Edgelake High. So she has a large scar on her face—Harry Potter had one on his forehead and people still liked him.

CeCe never cared about her looks—until Emmett Brady, transfer student and football darling, becomes her literature critique partner. The only problem? Emmett is blindsided by Bryn DeNeuville, CeCe’s gorgeous and suddenly shy volleyball teammate.

Bryn asks CeCe to help her compose messages that’ll charm Emmett. CeCe isn’t sure there’s anything in his head worth charming but agrees anyway—she’s a sucker for a good romance. Unfortunately, the more messages she sends and the more they run into each other, the more she realizes there’s plenty in his head, from food to literature. Too bad Emmett seems to be falling for the wrong girl…

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book involves one fiercely scarred girl who wants the new guy in town, the new guy who thinks he wants the new girl, and the new girl who really isn’t sure what she wants, and the misunderstanding that brings them all together. You’ll laugh, you’ll swoon, you’ll fall in love.

Don't Kiss the Messenger tells the story of CeCe Edmonds. CeCe had a car accident when she was younger and because of that she has a scar on her face. She's been dealing with a lot of stares and whispers about her scar, so now she's tough and doesn't back away when someone's mean to her. It looks like she's fine, but she's not. She desperately wants someone to love her for who she is, but everyone only sees her scar... Until Emmett...

I really liked Don't Kiss the Messenger. I thought it was going to be like all the other books but it wasn't. I really liked the fact that CeCe got to know Emmett while she was texting/mailing for Emmett. But I do think Emmett is kinda stupid lol. It was so obvious that Bryn wasn't the girl he thought she was.

There are also some deep conversations about beauty and scars, and I really loved that. I have scars myself and sometimes I think that's the only thing other people see, but my scars aren't the things that define me. I really loved that Katie Ray put something like this in Don't Kiss the Messenger. It's such a life lesson and thank you for that!

The Problem with Forever inspired make-up look | Tutorial

I finished The Problem with Forever (by Jennifer L. Armentrout) yesterday and I love it so much. I also love the cover so I had to make an inspired make-up look!

The Problem with Forever is such a beautiful and deep book. Jennifer L. Armentrout is such a great author and if you haven't read this book or any other book written by her, go read it! Click here for more information about The Problem with Forever.

If you want to know how I created this look, then keep on reading!

1. I primed my eyes using an eyeshadow base. After applying the base, I set it with a light eyeshadow.
2. I used blue eyeshadow in the beginning of my eyelid.
3. I used purple eyeshadow in the middle of my eyelid.
4. I used pink eyeshadow in the outer corner of my eyelid.
5. I used orange and yellow eyeshadow on my bottom lash line.
6. I used gel eyeliner on my upper waterline and also a little on my upper lash line so it would be easier to apply the eyelashes (so it won't be that visible if they aren't applied perfectly). On my lower waterline I used a nude eye pencil to make my eyes a little bigger.
7. I highlighted my inner corners, nose, cheek bones, forhead and chin with a bright highlighter.
8. I applied some mascara and lashes.
9. And for my lips I used a nude lipliner and then a matt liquid lipstick.

💜 I hope you guys love this make-up look and will recreate it! 💜
