The Green Button Campaign | Introduction

If you follow my Instagram and Twitter, you would’ve seen that I’ve been talking and sharing a lot about The Green Button Campaign. If you don’t know what The Green Button Campaign is, let me explain it to you.

The Green Button Campaign is a campaign founded by Chaz and co-founded by Megan. Chaz decided to create this campaign because Mental Health Awareness Week is in May (14th till 20th) and she wants to raise awareness for mental health and mental illnesses. The Green Button Campaign is a group of bloggers and influencers from all niches to help spread the word by creating blog posts about mental health, sharing mental health-related posts, … We are going to post a lot of content during Mental Health Awareness Week and after Mental Health Awareness Week, we are going to continue with our campaign. Little fact: Chaz decided to call this campaign The Green Button Campaign because green is often recognised as a colour of awareness for mental health issues and Button because buttons hold everything together.

Mental Health Awareness Week is in May, but we already have done some things. Some of the bloggers from our campaign have already made an introduction post and we even held two Twitter chats! The Twitter chats are held every Tuesday 8 PM-9 PM GMT.

I also wanted to say something about why I joined the campaign. As my readers know, I’ve been struggling with anxiety, depression and self-harm and therefore I wanted to join a campaign to help spread the word about mental health and that it’s okay to talk about it. I can proudly say that I’m a Head Campaigner for the campaign and I’m in charge of the graphics & art!
If you would like to join our campaign, make sure to email us at admin@thegreenbuttoncampaign.com! We would love to have you on our team and there are multiple ways to be able to help us with our campaign!

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Orange pink make-up look | Tutorial

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Orange I recently wrote a review of the I Heart Revolution Chocolate Orange palette because I was so intrigued by the colours and I loved the smell of the palette. I created two different looks (which you can see in my review) and today I’m going to tell you how I created the first look, the pink look. I really liked the pink colours and I wanted to create something soft.

Make sure to check out my review and I hope you guys like this look as much as I do!

1. Prime your eyelids so that the colour payoff is 100%.
2. Use the light pink shade as a base colour.
3. Use the darker pink in the crease.
4. Use the highlighter shade as well as another shimmer shade on your eyelid.
5. Draw a small winged liner.
6. Apply some mascara as well as some lashes. (I forgot to take a picture when I did my lower lash line. The colours that I used are the same colours that I used in 2 and 3.)
7. Use the highlight shade as a highlighter.
8. And the final step is lipstick!

Independence Realm | Review

Title: Independence Realm
Author: Kevin J. Bernadt
Pages: 278 pages
Version: Paperback (ARC)
Publisher: Independence Realm Publishing
Rating: ★★

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Kevin J. Bernadt.

Independence Realm tells the story of three teenagers, Allets, Ryan and Maria, who end up in another realm, Independence Realm, by accident. The three friends were enjoying their summer break until all of a sudden there was a storm and that storm led them to Independence Realm. Arrived in Independence Realm they soon figure out that they are destined to save Independence Realm from the king and queen, but will they be able to succeed?

Independence Realm was such a slow read, but at the same time a fast read. Everything that happened to the characters went by so fast and they could handle everything so easily. Everything was never a real effort for the characters and that made the book go fast. But it was also a slow read because I didn’t really get into the book. It wasn’t that interesting and kind of boring. Don’t get me wrong, I really like the concept, but I think that the story is just not that well written.

The characters of Independence Realm are so obvious and stereotypical. The characters are also not in-depth, they are shallow and they easily accept that they have to save Independence Realm and they easily talk to strangers. Independence Realm is also full of slang which annoyed me.

I guess you can say that this is Kevin J. Bernadt’s first novel because it’s not that well written and the story needs some depth. I wish I liked this story because the concept sounds really interesting!

When We Collided inspired make-up look | Tutorial

When We Collided I really loved When We Collided because it’s such a beautiful book and mental health is really important for this story. I couldn’t help creating an inspired make-up look, because I really liked the colours on the cover. I know, I went a little overboard with green but I was just so excited lol. I also tried something new by creating this double pink liner. Due to my hooded eyes, you cannot always see it but I still wanted to create it. It’s something new and I really like it and I cannot wait to experiment with it more!

I hope you guys like this tutorial and make sure to check out the book!

1. First things first: prime your eyelids with some eyeshadow primer and set it with a white/light eyeshadow.
2. Use a green eyeshadow all over your eyelid and crease.
3. Make a winged liner and a liner in the crease with a pink eyeliner.
4. Use a yellow (or two) shade as an inner corner shade.
5. Fill in your waterline with a blue eyeliner and smudge it with a blue eyeshadow.
6. Apply some mascara and lashes.
7. Something extra: I used a green highlighter in my inner corner and on my brow bone.
8. Highlight your entire face (just kidding!).
9. And the final step is lipstick!

The Rules of Rebellion | Blog tour

About The Rules of Rebellion:

1. Skinny dip (her idea)
2. Prank someone (his idea)
3. Stargaze (her idea)
4. Kiss someone (his idea)

Leo Zimmerman has had a crush on his curvy best friend Kylie Jenkins since forever, so When he discovers the girl with a flair for baking has a newfound plan to rebel against her overbearing parents, he’s determined to be the one to help her carry it out. Who better than a self-proclaimed rebel like himself to show her the ropes of letting loose?

Sure, taking her to her first high school party, helping her sneak out of the house, or watching a sunset together isn’t exactly a hardship, but much harder is masking his feelings the more time they spend together. And when he suggests adding “kiss a boy” to Kylie’s plan and she accepts…suddenly all his dreams seem to be coming true.

But Leo’s got a secret that could change everything between them, and it’s only a matter of time before it comes to the surface.

Her dimples popped into place, her smile so bright it about knocked me senseless. She bounced a bit on her tiptoes, and for one hopeful second I thought she’d maybe hug me. Unfortunately, she reined in her enthusiasm.
“That’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me,” she said. “I’ve got to run. My sister is probably pacing in front of my car by now. See you later.”
She scurried off, and I was disappointed the conversation had ended so quickly. I didn’t mind watching her walk away, though. I loved how the girl filled out a pair of jeans. She had more bounce in her step than most of the cheerleaders. Kylie was just plain…perky. She always seemed to be happy and smiling. I’d suspected Kylie was one of those rare people who was always fun to be around. Spending time with her these past few months had proven I wasn’t wrong.
She finally rounded the corner, slipping from my view. As I twisted back around, something crinkled beneath my foot. On the floor, directly where we’d been talking, was a pink slip of paper. It looked suspiciously similar to the one that had been sticking out of Kylie’s notebook earlier today.
I swiped it off the floor as I cast another glance down the hallway. It was too late to call after her. I’d have to give it back to her later. I reflexively glanced at the page, assuming it was a recipe, but wanting to be sure it wasn’t something important. Something she might need immediately.
Senior Checklist.
I glanced down the hallway again, confirming that she was out of sight and that she hadn’t realized she dropped the paper and was coming back. The hallway was clearing out, most of us anxious to get out of here at the end of the day.
With no sign of Kylie, I leaned against my locker and glanced at the sheet in my hand again. I was expecting to see items like Choose date and time for graduation party. Or Tour college campus
I did not expect to see the items that were actually listed.
Senior Checklist
1.      Skinny dip (sort of)

2.      Sneak out (but don’t get caught)

3.      Prank someone (nothing destructive)

4.      Go to a party (no drinking)

5.      Kiss a boy (finally!)

6.      Watch a sunset (so romantic)

If I’d had any idea her list was going to be so private, I wouldn’t have read it. But once I’d seen it, I couldn’t exactly un-see it.
So I read it again.

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Orange palette | Review

Product: Chocolate Orange palette
Brand: I Heart Revolution (Makeup Revolution)
Price: €9.95-€11.23
Rating:

Review

I know I’m a bit late to the party, but I still wanted to review the I Heart Revolution Chocolate Orange palette because it’s just so pretty! When I first found out that the palette was going to be released, I immediately put it on my wish list. It’s just such a beautiful warm-toned palette, and I couldn’t resist buying it. I may be late, but I don’t care because I love the palette!

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Orange

The Chocolate Orange palette has 16 shades, 2 highlight shades, 4 shimmer shades and 10 matte shades. All these shades have an orange smell which makes it amazing to open the palette. The smell is definitely one of my favourite things about this palette. I don’t know why, but I really like the smell and it gives the palette something extra.

The top row:
1. Its Mine
2. Clementine
3. Chocolate Orange
4. Ribbon
5. Silky Smooth

The second row:
1. Gift
2. Tap It
3. Lush
4. Segment
5. Pip
6. Orange

The bottom row:
1. Smash
2. Peel
3. Dessert
4. Nibble
5. In One

I really like that the Chocolate Orange palette contains more matt shades than shimmer shades. I own another palette, the Chocolate-Golden Bar, and that palette only has shimmer shades. It’s nice to have some beautiful matte shades for in the crease. I really like the pigmentation of this palette, but I had some difficulties with the highlight and shimmer shades. They are a bit difficult to work with, but still manageable. The matt shadows have some fallout, but not too much.

I Heart Revolution Chocolate Orange

Overall, I really like this palette and you can create a lot of different looks. You can create warm orange looks, brown looks and even pink looks. I have created two different looks for you guys, that will be up very soon! The first look is the pink look, that will be up next week, and then I have a brown & orange look that will be up a week after the pink look.

I hope you guys liked this review and are more determined to buy this gorgeous palette! Make sure to check out my blog next week for the pink tutorial!

Mist & Whispers | Review

Title: Mist & Whispers
Series: The Weaver’s Riddle #1
Author: C.M. Lucas
Pages: 350 pages
Version: Ebook (ARC)
Publisher: Oftomes Publishing
Rating: ★

Review

This book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Oftomes Publishing!

Mist & Whispers is the first book in The Weaver’s Riddle and tells the story of Anya and her friends. Anya must save Ian’s bookshop and she is determined that the Weaver’s books will be the bookshop’s success. But she didn’t know that saving the bookshop meant going to another realm and saving the kingdom from evil…

Mist & Whispers started really slowly. It was a bit hard to get into the story, and I didn’t always want to read the book. When I was reading Mist & Whispers, I was also reading another book and that other book was always more interesting than this one.

Mist & Whispers was an interesting read, yet a really slow one. I  think that if the pacing would’ve been faster, the book would’ve been better. It was hard focusing on the book but I still wanted to give it a try and I’m glad I did. Mist & Whispers is really interesting and I cannot wait to read the sequel!

Top 5 favourite teas

1. Clipper Love Me Truly
Love Me Truly is an organic chai infusion tea with ginger, orange, fennel and many more ingredients. Love Me Truly is such a lovely tea because of the ginger. I’ve never drunk ginger before so I was a bit sceptical while trying out this tea, but wow it tastes amazing! Love Me Truly was also the first Clipper tea that I’ve ever drunk so I cannot wait to taste more Clipper tea!

2. Pickwick Sterrenmunt (Dutch)
I really like the Sterrenmunt tea because it doesn’t taste like mint at all even though there’s mint in this tea. Besides the mint, you also have anise, fennel and liquorice. I don’t really know how to describe this tea but you just have to trust me and believe me when I say that I really like this tea! I don’t really know if there’s an English version of this tea, sorry!

3. Lipton Asian White & Rose
I’ve drunk this tea only twice when I was visiting my grandpa at the hospital, but I know that it’s one of my favourite teas. It’s a green tea with white tea buds and rose petals. It’s a special kind of Lipton tea because it’s an exclusive tea so I hope that I will find this tea somewhere because it’s just so good!

4. Delhaize Fruity Green Tea Mango & Kokos (Dutch)
My mum got sent different kinds of Delaize Tea and this one is by far my favourite of their tea range. I really love the taste of mango and coconut together. It’s a really fruity tea and it tastes really sweet.

5. Higher Living Very Berry
And the last tea that I have for you is the Higher Living Very Berry tea. I discovered it this summer and I fell in love with its berry taste. I love berry tea (such as the Lipton Forest Fruit tea) and this is definitely one of my favourite berry teas. It’s really sweet and even extra sweet when you add some sugar.

I hope you guys will check out these tea flavours and you can always let me know what your favourite tea(s) are!

The Silver Bullet | Review

Title: The Silver Bullet
Series: Solis Invicti #4
Author: Josie Jaffrey
Pages: 316 pages
Version: Paperback (ARC)
Rating:

Review

This book was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Josie Jaffrey!

The Silver Bullet is the fourth and final book in the Solis Invicti series. Emmy found out that Sol Silvered for her and in order to protect them, he turned Emmy Silver. But being Silver is not going to save her. Emmy, Sol, Drew, Oliver and Laila are hiding and training Emmy to become stronger. Everything is going okay until they figure out that Oliver has been playing them and is going to tell their plan to Ben, the one who desperately wants to be Primus. Will they make it out alive?

Like all the other books, there were a lot of plot twists. I didn’t see it coming that Oliver betrayed them. I couldn’t believe that he was so evil when in the Farm he was constantly sweet towards Emmy and protecting her. He’s such a dick!

And that Sol Silvered for Emmy was also surprising. I always thought Emmy was going to be together with Drew and that Sol was just a distraction. While reading the first book, I was never team Sol and also not when I was reading book 2 and book 3. He was so cold towards her when he Silvered for her, why not tell her? It would’ve been so much easier because Emmy was always thinking of her feelings for Drew and Sol and it was not easy for her. But hey, I’m happy that Emmy and Sol are together!

The Silver Bullet was a perfect ending for the series, but I still want more. It wouldn’t hurt to read another book about Emmy and Sol, right?! So please Josie, write another book, a short story is also good for me!
